Service Description

Get expert advice and treatment for common health conditions directly from Lotus Pharmacy, without needing to see your GP first. The NHS Pharmacy First service allows our pharmacists to assess and, where clinically appropriate, provide treatment for seven common conditions: * Sinusitis – aged 12 years and over * Sore throat – aged 5 years and over * Ear infection (acute otitis media) – children aged 1 to 17 years * Infected insect bites – aged 1 year and over * Impetigo – aged 1 year and over * Shingles – aged 18 years and over * Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) – women aged 16 to 64 years During your private consultation, our pharmacist will assess your symptoms and determine the most appropriate course of action. Depending on the outcome, this may include advice and self-care, or the supply of appropriate medication where clinically indicated. If your condition requires further assessment or falls outside the scope of Pharmacy First, we will advise you on the appropriate next steps. The consultation is fully NHS funded and there is no charge to be assessed by our pharmacist. If medication is supplied through the NHS Pharmacy First service, the usual NHS prescription charge may apply unless you are exempt from paying prescription charges. No appointment is necessary – simply visit Lotus Pharmacy and ask for Pharmacy First. If you would prefer the convenience of a specific time, you can also book an appointment in advance. All treatment and supply of medication is subject to a clinical assessment and the NHS Pharmacy First eligibility criteria.
